| So I'm currently doing a bit of raiding to help my supply numbers.... is it bad to probe a guy about equal to me and go "I'm gonna take him"?
What are the pros and cons of openly attacking someone that could possibly destroy me.
Also, as this is an offensive question, what is better? Light or Heavy fighters?
Oh, also, how else can I counter rocket launchers aside from IPMs? Or should I just hope that I'm more powerful than them?

| You can definitely attack someone the same rank as you (as long as you are sure that you can take him, using speedsim) because if he does try to destroy you afterwards, some of us can help you kick his ass So in the end, he will very unlikely be able to hurt you badly because we can just stop him. The pros are that you will get some good resources from it As for light fighters and heavy fighters, I'm not actually sure......I know that later on in the game light fighters are used for fodder to stop the big ships from being destroyed, but early on I'm not actually sure which is more efficient cost wise. I think I just went for a 50/50 ratio. As for the rocket launchers, it depends how many he has. Because IPMs are quite hard to get, you need missile silo level 4. Put his defences into speesim and see if you can take him | |

| most effective way to take RL at the beginning of the game is to unlock cruisers, as they have good Rapid Fire against RL. Heavy fighters are also the better choice at first if you can build them, because they have heavier armor etc u are less likely to lose them earlier rounds, ensuring you maximum attack power. Later in the game like oceanus said by building light powers you can make sure you keep your ships with a real punch alive. For now heavy fighters are good I personally stick to inactive players at earlier stages as they are more profitable since they have higher mines than beginners. | |

| Ya, I've been aiming at people who are inactive around the same score as me. They have higher Deut reserves and that's what I need most, heh
Also, when attacking someone I noticed the button for a Fleet Union. How does that work exactly? Cause then I could get me and kelly raiding together =)

| after you send your fleet when you press the fleet union button, you can invite other players in your buddy list to join your fleet. Its called an ACS attack. Basically u would press the button and invite your mate, and they would receive a msg. Then they would have to go to their fleet screen, slect their fleet and on the fleet movement 2 screen they would have to choose your fleet union from the drop down menu and proceed. You will have a combined fleet as a result. Pretty kick ass stuff | |
