PostSubject: A miner in the deep blue sea..   A miner in the deep blue sea.. I_icon_minitimeSat Jun 12, 2010 3:42 pm

After looking at a overviews of player types and the such, I've realized I'm most closely fitting of a miner. My fleet mostly consists of cargo ships and light fighter escorts/detturants, and I'm getting enough res to build a light fighter every two hours (which is big for where I'm ranked). My solar plants are nearing the twenties fast, etc... xD

I was wondering if my Alliance gurus have any advice to how I can better streamline my growth so I can get to a point where I can aid the Alliance?

that is pretty good, i'm like 500 ranks above you but i bet our mine levels are the same
my advice would be to start researching astrophysics more and building more colony ships so you can expand your mining empire. Also when you research impulse drive lvl 5 your small cargo's will become faster than your large cargo's so you can transport res between planets quicker.
I would avoid building a lot of light fighters since they are just cannon fodder unless you have the big ships to back it up. It might be better to go for Gauss cannons and definitely get some large shield domes up.

Heh heh, a few more hours and I'm going to start lvl 5 impulse research. Astrophysics is really fricken expensive to research, and I <3's all my precious res that I can use on speed research...*sniff* In total, I have 27 LFs and 8 HFs. I'm not interested in raiding, I only want some fodder to help protect my Cargos whom keep my res safe over night in transit.
<.< >.> *wipes the duet off his boots* Seems my tanks are at capacity..

well you don't need any protection in flight but i do think we need to talk about some trade in the very near future.

Oh, trade, a businessman's favorite phrase...after free and no strings attached, that is. The protection is for when they make their stops and return to the deploying planet...(seeing as I'm bad at guessing time. xD)

From my P.O.V. I would say put the res from your light fighters into more cargos and if your cargos are not moving your res between planets then ALWAYS have them raiding, in your case with no real fighting force send them after inactives with no def. I know you guys here that a lot but its the fastest way to get res lol. even if you only get a few thousand thats res you wouldnt have had with them just sitting.

THIS;) You should always scout out which inactives are defenseless and then just raid them all day long.. You will make TONS of ress compared to just sitting around:) And you do not need any fighter ships to do it... Actually, you don't need any fighter ships unless you plan to fight... And by the looks of it, you do not;)

I went from <10k res of each to well over 40k of each over night from this!
Now I have more Deut than I can spend...
