Points Limit

This is a thread to announce that we have introduced a points limit to Rising Tide, in both Draco and Gemini. We are doing this to help our points average, considering we now have a lot of members in the alliance.

Draco Limit
We are now only accepting new members into the alliance that are above 10,000 points.

Gemini Limit
We are now only accepting new members into the alliance that are above rank 1500.

These could change int the future (especially Gemini, because it is still only in its early stages)

Yer probley a good idea so we don't get un-active players

oh and yeah 1500 rank in Gem seems a little high? i mean judging by Draco's ranks and that it takes a lot of effort to get to 1500 (even on a new server)

yer i think 1500 pritty high haha im not even that yet and i started on the 2nd day it was up lol

We did 1500 because we only wanted higher ranking people to boost the alliance rank and because most of the people that are ranked that high will continue to play even if they get hit, whereas someone ranked 2k or lower would have a higher chance of quiting if they get hit.

However if you guys think we should lower the requirements for Gemini and its ok with "O" I can go ahead and change it, or we can put up a poll?

If we did change it what do you guys think is a good rank? 2k, 2.5k, lower? There is currently just over 6k players in Gemini maybe 3k? lol just let us know what you think and we'll take it into consideration

Yeah I was talking to P the other day and he mentioned it being quite high. I think looking at it again I do agree. I think there are only about 5-10 in the alliance at the moment that are above 1500, maybe even less.
As for what to change it to, I reckon 2.5k is alright. What do you guys think?

2.5k sounds good to me, if there is no objections (higher or lower) i'll change it on the alliance intro tomorrow.

probably a good idea. I had a problem with newbies becoming inactive with my old alliance. Then when founding members left ogame, inactive newbies is all we got.

I'd raise it to 20,000

just out of curiosity why haven't you put these new limits on the alliance page?

Also sorry to be a nazi but.... "3. We require that you are active on OGame at least once a week. We remove members after 2 weeks of inactivity. Obviously vacations and other things are excuses." you should change the word 'excuses' to 'exceptions'

oh also one more thing, if you implying this 10k limit in draco, is there any point having ranks below 10k like Water Sprite, Merman, Kappa and Kelpie?

We should keep the lower ranks incase someone has a friend or relative that starts, I am sure we would probably let them in if someone already in the alliance vouches for them

fair enough, I was just curious.

That in mind tho, there should be some thought in a new high rank above leviathan.. or perhaps a revamp of the old ranks, cos I have nothing to aim for anymore lol.
