| A few questions for all you senior players, aka people who know more about this game than me...
What are the use of colonies? The tutorial thing they got isn't very helpful on what to do, lol.
I've set up a colony in a different system (apparently I need some mysterious research to colonize close/far from the sun of my current system...), and have near to no idea how to use this place. lol

| Well before colonizing, u should be aware that:
7-8-9 are the largest planets You get more solar satellite efficiency nearer planet 1 You get slightly more deuterium as u are nearer to 15
The use of the colony is watever you make of it. It is a new planet with everything available to it as a normal planet. You can build up mines to increase ur production, build a shipyard to increase you ship production speed etc. Also another good thing about a colony is, it makes it easier to fleetsave, as it gives you a target to send you fleet to, although its not a necessity.
You colony's could also be used as mobiles to get turtles into IPM range, or as forward base of operations if you get it around a lot of inactive players.
But basically a colony is useful for whatever you need it for. Its a full planet and you can build everything on it that you can build on your homeplanet.

| Yeah, John summed it up well there. One thing I should add (although not as important) is that you can switch your home planet. It doesn't do anything special, except change the planet that your name links to from the leaderboard rankings. In that sense, it's especially useful if you don't want someone to find your homeplanet. And what is this research needed to colonise near to the sun/far from the sun? I didn't know about it | |

| Astrophysics needs to be researched in order to colonize these locations
Positions 3 and 13 can be populated from level 4 onwards. Positions 2 and 14 can be populated from level 6 onwards. Positions 1 and 15 can be populated from level 8 onwards.

| Ah, Thank you for your quick answers! I do have another question, is your tech level shared between planets, or will I need to do the same research over on different planets? | |

| I'm in a predicament....
Attempting to save up resources for a colony ship...
a) Build more resource mines (which means more energy needed too also)
b) just go afk for 1-2 more days
c) open to more suggestions...
